Take a Virtual Tour and Hear From Our Families
When thinking of trusting our child with someone else – well, it was plain scary. Could any place truly be safe and nurturing enough for Alexandra? Then we stumbled across Montesshare – in a beautiful home, yet licensed by the State. Valerie has held our hand as we’ve watched Alexandra flourish in this safe cocoon. I seriously didn’t think I could have such peace each morning as I wave goodbye to my daughter before heading to work. With our extended family overseas, we’ve found a second a home for our daughter and wouldn’t ever look back.
The Montesshare was a perfect transition environment for our daughter. It allowed us to expose her to Spanish and the Montessori philosophy in a small, in-home family environment. Our daughter has thrived and it provides her with the tools to acquire and explore her own interests in a supported and loving place.

As we were transitioning back to the Virginia area from an overseas posting - and exploring childcare/preschool options for our then 2.5 year-old, I stumbled across Montesshare and was immediately drawn to their program and community approach. Although ultimately the classroom was full the school year we returned to the US, the staff were responsive, clear, and approachable in their communication. So much so, we applied during the next open enrollment and have never looked back. We're grateful we can depend on the Montesshare staff! Stability/consistency of the staff is really important for us, as it allows the teachers to develop relationships with the children, meet them where they are, and know how to guide them for continued growth at an individual level. And the routines (for children and parents) and community that Montesshare facilitates and encourages are an added bonus!Posted on FK TorrezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A wonderful Montessori-based childcare in a small, cozy, and family-friendly setting. We had our daughter in the program and were very pleased with the experience. The environment is warm, nurturing, and thoughtfully prepared to support each child’s independence, curiosity, and natural development. Children are encouraged to learn at their own pace through hands-on activities while receiving individualized attention and genuine care. It truly feels like a second home—calm, supportive, and focused on building confidence, respect, and a love of learning.Posted on Stephanie BoothTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My child attended for just over a year. Great environment with a Montessori approach. Great student teacher ratio, great teachers. And a good approach to build a community (occasional coffee Fridays at the school, mom's and dads nights out, playground parents). It’s a home-based Montessori preschool in Alexandria, and the small class size creates such a warm, personalized environment. We’ve had two children attend, and both truly thrived with the hands-on learning, Spanish enrichment, and focus on independence. What really stands out is the close-knit, inclusive community among families. We highly recommend Montesshare to anyone looking for a thoughtful, high-quality in-home preschool.Posted on Bryan JacksonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It is with much pleasure that I share how we feel about Montesshare! Our family is deeply grateful for Montesshare and the incredible community it has created. From the very beginning, it was clear that this school is something truly special—not just because of the Montessori philosophy, but because of the people who bring it to life every day. The staff and teachers at Montesshare genuinely know each child. They see them as whole human beings, not just students. One moment that perfectly captures this care: one day our child’s earring was missing, and we received a call from the school simply to let us know and to share that they were willing to look for it. That level of attention to detail—care that goes far beyond academics—meant so much to us. It speaks volumes about how deeply our children are valued and protected. The Montessori program itself is top notch. The learning environment is warm, cozy, and intentionally designed to invite curiosity, independence, and joy. Children are empowered to have a voice, to explore, and to take ownership of their learning in a way that feels both structured and freeing. The small class sizes allow for truly individualized and specific attention, which makes an incredible difference in our child’s growth, confidence, and love of learning. Equally meaningful is the parent community. Montesshare has brought together families who genuinely care about one another—we’ve met parents here who we now consider friends. There’s a real sense of belonging, partnership, and shared values that is rare and deeply appreciated. Montesshare is more than a school; it’s a community rooted in respect, intention, and care. We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of it and cannot recommend it highly enough to families looking for an environment where their children will be known, nurtured, and empowered every single day. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in having an educational experience that we all wished we had as children.Posted on Vaibhav ChhedaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our son attended Montesshare Montessori for two wonderful years before we moved to a new city, starting when he was just three. While we always knew he was bright, the teachers truly elevated his aptitude to another level. The Montessori process and ethos are exceptional, and the growth we saw—academically, socially, and emotionally—was remarkable. He left as a confident, mature young learner with a strong foundation that continues to serve him well. What truly sets Montesshare apart is its commitment to inclusion and diversity, along with the strong sense of family and community that comes naturally (and wonderfully, at no extra cost!). We highly recommend this school—if you’re lucky enough to get a spot, as it’s always in high demand!Posted on Danielle WalkerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolute best decision we made for our child to attend Montesshare. This preschool is a dream considering it is a full day program, has small a class size and a wonderfully small teacher to student ratio. It has also become more than just a place for our child to learn - being new to the community as a military family this preschool has helped us connect with other families, there are warm and low pressure opportunties to engage with other families frequently which really fosters a sense of belonging. We are also able to use the military subsidy at this preschool which helps considerably with cost. I would recommend Montesshare in heartbeat 1000 times over, and feel so very lucky we have found such a unique and wonderful preschool experience for our child.Posted on Romina MpinkWTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I absolutely love this Montessori school. It is a wonderful place where children feel safe, confident, and motivated to learn. The environment is warm and respectful, and the teachers are dedicated, kind, and truly committed to each child’s growth. The Montessori philosophy is applied with care and professionalism.Posted on Shannon SlayerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Montesshare is seriously a hidden gem. The environment is calm, beautiful, and feels truly child-centered — not chaotic or overcrowded. You can tell it’s authentic Montessori, and the mixed-age classroom + Spanish enrichment makes it even more special. If you’re looking for a safe, nurturing preschool in Alexandria, I can’t recommend Montesshare enough!
